POLUTON

Meri Hietala, Kasematti IV Gallery, Harakka saari, Helsinki, Finland 2013

*Poluton*

Poluton is an ongoing project, where I do research on water, the inner water environments in human, the outer environments in our surroundings, and the ever increasing polluted water resources. In Poluton exhibition in Harakka Island in Helsinki, the focus was on the sound and water – how with sound waves is possible to create an effect in micro level, on a cell level? The installation has triptych theme – “pure water” versus antidepressants water mix versus estrogen water mix. The sound scape in the gallery space was my throat singing. The sound was creating visuals – cymatics, with these waters, those were projected on to the wall.
